Kulgam LeT Module Busted: A terror module linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was busted in a joint operation of police, Indian Army's Rashtriya Rifles, and the CRPF with the arrest of four alleged terror associates in Jammu & Kashmir's Kulgam district, the police informed on Sunday. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the suspects, police said.

The four apprehended individuals have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Pandit, Basir Hussain Pandit, Imtiyaz Gull, and Gulzar Ahmad Khar, all reportedly residents of Wanpora. The items recovered by security forces during the joint operation include one pistol, two pistol magazines, 20 pistol rounds, four UBGs, 24 assault rifle rounds, the police said posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
"Further investigation in the case is going on. More arrests and recoveries are expected in the case," a police official was quoted as saying by news agency IANS. In January, a cross-border terror module involved in the smuggling of arms and ammunition was busted during a joint operation in the Karnah area of J&K's Kupwara district and five alleged terror associates were arrested as a result.
"We busted a cross-border terror module in a joint operation. We have arrested 5 terror associates from Karnah in this...The case is being investigated expeditiously in a comprehensive manner to further unearth the conspiracy regarding the smuggling of arms and ammunition and proscribed material/contraband," SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas had said regarding the joint operation. According to the police, teams of the 9 Para Special Forces unit of the Indian Army was involved in the joint operation conducted in Karnah.
