Kunal Kamra Row: Tensions escalated in Mumbai as Shiv Sena workers vandalised The Habitat studio following comedian Kunal Kamra's recent YouTube episode, in which he referred to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as a ‘gaddar’ or ‘traitor’. This incident has ignited significant controversy, leading to further confrontations.

An unverified audio clip has recently emerged, allegedly capturing a conversation between Kamra and a Shiv Sena worker, who issued threats against the comedian. The worker warned that Kamra would suffer a fate similar to that of the vandalised studio.

During the exchange, the Shiv Sena worker confronted Kamra about his video, questioning, "What video have you posted about our leader?" When Kamra asked which leader was being referred to, the worker clarified, "Eknath Shinde. Our chief minister, what video have you posted about him?"

Kamra countered by stating, "How is he the Chief Minister now?" to which the worker replied, "Yes, Deputy Chief Minister. What video have you made about him?" Kamra asked if the worker had seen the video and when the worker confirmed, he warned Kamra, "See what we did to the studio. Wherever we find you, you will meet the same fate."

The conversation grew more aggressive as the worker demanded to know Kamra’s location, "Where do you live?" Kamra replied, "Tamil Nadu, you'll find me there" The worker responded with expletives and added, "We will come to Tamil Nadu and thrash you there." Kamra, undeterred, invited him, saying, "Come to Tamil Nadu then." Later on the caller was heard saying "How Will We Reach Tamil Nadu"

The controversy began after Kamra performed a stand-up act in which he mocked Eknath Shinde using a modified version of a song from the Bollywood movie Dil To Pagal Hai. The act appeared to reference Shinde’s 2022 defection from Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, which led to the fall of the Maharashtra government. Kamra’s use of the term gaddar sparked outrage among Shiv Sena leaders.
