Suraj Mann Air India Murder: A day after being arrested by the Delhi Police, ‘Lady Don’ Kajal Khatri was taken into custody by the Noida Police in connection with the murder of Air India crew member Suraj Mann in January 2023. Kajal was sent to Luksar jail in Noida, Uttar Pradesh on judicial custody.
29-year-old Kajal Khatri, partner of jailed gangster Kapil Mann, was arrested by the Delhi Police, in the Suraj Mann murder case. Mann was a resident of the Lotus Panache Society in Sector 110, Noida. The police said that Kajal Khatri was arrested from a hotel in Haryana’s Hisar while she was attempting to flee.
Kajal Khatri’s Shocking Confession
‘Lady Don’ Kajal Khatri has reportedly confessed to the crime during police interrogation and said that she organised Air India crew member Suraj Mann's killing in January 2023 for a sum of Rs 4 lakh.
The police also uncovered a chilling plot involving Kajal Khatri and notorious gangster Naveen Sharma, who conspired to carry out the murder of Suraj Mann. Khatri was paid Rs 1.5 lakh in advance for weapons, and the balance was to be paid after the killing. However, the attempt was foiled as the Noida Police arrested Sharma before the full payment could be made.
During the police interrogation, Khatri revealed that she is married to Kapil Mann, a notorious gangster currently imprisoned. Their relationship began in a gym in Delhi's Rohini, and both of them tied the knot in 2019.
The police investigation has revealed that Kajal Khatri met her husband in jail shortly before Suraj Mann's murder, where the chilling details of the plot were reportedly discussed. The attack on Suraj Mann took place after he exited a gym in Noida, gunned down by assailants on a motorcycle, as he sat in his car.
According to reports, Suraj Mann had no criminal history, but it was suspected that his patronage of his jailed brother, gangster Parvesh Mann was the main reason behind his murder.
Additional DCP Noida Police Manish Kumar Mishra said that they are looking to take swift action against Kajal under the Gangster Act, as reported by NDTV. The police also said that efforts are underway to arrest others involved in the crime.
