Delhi Car Blast: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday morning announced that the Lal Qila Metro Station will remain closed until further notice due to security reasons as probe into the Red Fort car blast continues. Officials confirmed that all other metro stations are operating normally.

A powerful blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening caused panic across Old Delhi, leaving at least 13 people dead and several others injured. The explosion took place outside Gate No. 1 of the Lal Qila Metro Station, setting multiple vehicles on fire.

The incident has triggered a major security review in central Delhi, prompting authorities to cordon off the area and restrict access to nearby landmarks.

In a post on X, the DMRC stated, "Lal Quila Metro Station will remain closed till further notice due to security reasons. All other stations are functional as normal."

Meanwhile, the DNA tests have confirmed that Dr Umar Nabi was driving the i20 car, which exploded near the Red Fort. The DNA sample from bones, teeth, and clothes of the prime suspect's body matched 100 per cent with Umar's mother and brother. Umar was working as a senior doctor at Faridabad-based Al-Farah University.

Umar's mother was detained from Pulwama for the DNA test. "We have taken the mother of the suspect to collect DNA samples to match them with the parts found at the scene of the blast," a police official was quoted by news agency PTI.
