Heavy rains in the hilly states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have caused havoc, with the destruction of infrastructure due to landslides and waterlogging in several parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for heavy rains in several districts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, raising concerns about more destruction in the hilly terrain.

A cloudburst in the Manikaran Valley of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh led to flooding of the Tosh Nala on Monday night, washing away the bridge connecting Tosh village and cutting off access. Two shops were destroyed, and several homestays and restaurants were damaged in the incident. On Tuesday, authorities built an alternative bridge to rescue 200 stranded tourists from the village.

While the road was cleared in Langasu by 9:30 AM, it took 12 hours for the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) to restore vehicular movement in Gulabkoti.

Heavy rain continues in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, causing continuous blockages on Char Dham Yatra routes. The Badrinath highway was severely affected, causing significant delays and inconvenience to travellers.
