Lawrence Bishnoi's brother Anmol Bishnoi will soon be repatriated to India, as New Delhi began the process of his extradition from the United States, news reports mentioned on Saturday. This comes days after the National Investigation Agency declared a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on Anmol, who is an accused in multiple high-profile criminal cases linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in India.
The extradition process was initiated by the Mumbai police crime branch, which is probing the case of a firing incident which took place outside the house of Bollywood star Salman Khan in April earlier this year. According to an NDTV report, a special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court issued a non-bailable warrant against Lawrence Bishnoi's notorious cousin brother, prompting action by the Mumbai Police's crime branch.
The report indicated that the law enforcement agency started the extradition process shortly after the authorities in the United States alerted them about the presence of Anmol in the country.
In an earlier chargesheet against Anmol, the Mumbai Police has termed him the key conspirator behind the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala and Salman Khan's house firing incident. The 1735-page bulky chargesheet mentioned that Anmol delivered a nine-minute long motivational speech to the Salman Khan house shooters - Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal - inspiring them to 'script history' by carrying out the shooting successfully.
"Do this work well. After the work is completed, you guys will script history," he told the shooters in an alleged audio note sent from abroad.
"Do not be afraid at all while doing this work. Doing this work means bringing a 'change' in the society," he allegedly said.
Who Is Anmol Bishnoi
Brother of dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi followed the suit of his elder cousin to fill the leadership gap created after his incarceration. With over 18 cases in his kitty, Anmol fled to Canada using a fake passport and visa after getting out of Jodhpur jail in 2021. He is believed to be handling the overseas operation of the 700-men-strong international criminal gang.
According to an Outlook report, Bishnoi was briefly located in Kenya in 2023, before he turned up at a party in the USA in April 2023 alongside Punjabi singers Karan Aujla and Sharry Mann. The singers later issued letters clarifying that they were unaware of his presence at the party.
