Lawrence Bishnoi News: The family of Lawrence Bishnoi spend as much as Rs 35-40 lakhs per year to take good care of him in the jail, a report revealed on Sunday quoting one of his cousins. Bishnoi, the 31-year-old gangster at the centre of the national spotlight, remained lodged in the Sabarmati central jail with over 80 criminal cases in his dossier.
Ramesh Bishnoi, a member of Lawrence's family, said the family never thought that the 31-year-old Panjab University graduate would become a criminal in future and he was always considered a well-behaved boy in childhood.
Speaking on the family of one of the most feared global gangsters, Ramesh told newspaper Indian Express that their family has always been wealthy.
“Lawrence's father was a constable in the Haryana Police and owns 110 acres (of land) in our village. Lawrence always wore expensive clothes and shoes. Even now, the family spends Rs 35-40 lakh annually on him in jail,” Ramesh Bishnoi was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.

Lawrence was born in Fazilka village in Punjab's Firozpur. His real name Balkaran Brar was changed at the suggestion of one of his aunts who felt Lawrence sounded better.
Fazilka Villagers remembers Lawrence as a "well-behaved boy who never picked fights" and blames his departure from the village as one of the key reasons behind his entry into the criminal world.
For his early education, Lawrence was sent to Assumption Convent School, a Christian boarding school in Abohar, then he was enrolled at DAV Chandigarh for matriculation. According to a Hindu report, it was in DAV college, that Bishnoi developed the fervour for athletics and started participating in a 1,500-metre race.
Linked To High Profile Murders
Lawrence Bishnoi remained in national headlines for a whole week owing to the murder of Maharashtra leader Baba Siddique and a Canadian Royal Mounted Police report which linked him to the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canada-based Khalistani terrorist.
Earlier in May 2022, his name also surfaced in connection to the brutal murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
