Delhi Police arrested the main accused who was allegedly responsible for killing a gym owner in south Delhi’s Greater Kailash area last month. The main shooter, Mahur alias Ayan, linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba gangs, was apprehended after a shootout with the police on New Narela Bawana Road on Saturday night. He sustained bullet injuries in both legs during the encounter.

A total of 11 rounds were exchanged and the police recovered a semi-automatic pistol, a country-made gun, eight cartridges and a bike from Madhur. The accused is a resident of Kabir Nagar in  East Delhi and reportedly works for the Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba gangs

Madhur had shot Nadir Shah with nine bullets outside his gym, acting on orders from Lawrence Bishnoi. Bishnoi, who is in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail, directed Hashim Baba, currently lodged in Mandali Jail, to plan the murder. The killing was allegedly orchestrated by several gangsters, including Rajasthan's Rohit Godara, who conspired with two criminals from Yamunapar to carry out the attack.

On the night of the murder, four gang members set out on a bike and a scooter for Greater Kailash, but two of them got stuck in traffic. Madhur and his accomplice, Raju, arrived first. While Raju waited on the scooter, Madhur spotted Nadir outside the gym and opened fire, killing him instantly. The duo managed to escape despite police presence in the vicinity, raising concerns about the law and order situation in the city.

When they attempted to intercept him, Madhur fired five rounds at the officers. In retaliation, police fired six shots, three of which hit Madhur’s arms, leading to his capture.
