Lenskart Row: Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the dress code of Lenskart, BJP minority morcha leader Nazia Elahi Khan stated that Hindus should not be ashamed of their identity. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Khan criticised the company for imposing restrictions on religious symbols such as tilak and sindoor. The BJP leader's statement came a day after she was seen storming into a regional Lenskart store in Mumbai and confronting a staff member. She further alleged that the Hindus were deliberately asked to not follow their practices in these centres.

In her post, Khan asserted that Hindus should follow their rituals without any hesitation irrespective of where they work. "Tilak is your pride, Hindu! Kalaava is your Sankar, Hindu! Sanatan is your identity, Hindu! The slogan of Har Har Mahadev is your pride, Hindus! Work at Lenskart or Air India! Wherever you live, or work never compromise your identity, Hindus!" the BJP leader stated in her post.

As per the video that went viral, Khan was seen confronting the store manager of Lenskart in Mumbai. She alleged that Mohsin Khan, the store manager, selectively restricted Hindus from following their practices, adding that Islamic attire such as hijab was allowed in these centres. She further applied tika to the Hindu employees present at the site, further asking them to follow their rituals.

"There is no shame in bearing one, Even I have one even though I am a Muslim," she asserted. "The owner of Lenskart has deliberately appointed Mohsin Khan, a member of the Ummah, as the store manager! To prevent Hindu staff from wearing the tilak, kalawa and to stop following Hindu customs!" she stated in her post while sharing the video.

Earlier, Lenskart issued an apology by stating that the dress code has been revised for the regional centers, adding that no such guidelines will be issued in the future.
