Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today address a public meeting in the Naxal dominating Bastar as part of his campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Requisite security arrangements have been put in place for PM Modi’s visit. The polling in Bastar will take place in the first phase on April 19. This seat is important for the BJP as it had lost here in the 2019 election. Apart from addressing the rally, PM Modi will interact with saffron party office bearers of the Chhattisgarh unit.
PM Modi will give a strong message to security forces in their fight against Naxalism. Security personnel will be deployed within a radius of five kilometres from where PM Modi will deliver his speech. The security will also be monitored through drones.
Modi’s Rally After Bijapur Encounter:
PM Modi’s rally came days after security forces killed over 13 Naxalites in an encounter. Security has been heightened across the area with the deployment of paramilitary forces and state police. PM Modi can give a big message on the anti-Naxal campaign while boosting the morale of the security forces.
PM Modi’s Maharashtra Rally:
After Chhattisgarh, PM Modi will reach Maharashtra’s Chandrapur to give pace to his political campaign. Prime Minister will also visit the state on April 14 to address a rally in Ramtek. Before addressing the rally in Ramtek, PM Modi will pay tributes to Babasaheb Ambedkar at Dikhsha Bhoomi in Nagpur.

Maharastra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second highest in the country after Uttar Pradesh. In 2019, the BJP fought in the alliance with undivided Shiv Sena and won 23 of the 25 seats it contested.
The Lok Sabha election will take place in seven phases beginning April 19. Besides LS polls, Assembly elections are also slated in four states. The result will be declared on June 4.
