As the countdown to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections gains momentum, the opposition landscape reflects strategic shifts, particularly in the South. The Congress party, having faced setbacks in the Hindi heartland, is aiming to counter the BJP's dominance by focusing on strengthening its foothold in Southern states.

The smoke is yet to be cleared within the opposition, as they remain divided on whether to attend the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, with the CPM being the sole prominent member clearly opting out.

As the election countdown intensifies, the INDIA bloc faces internal conflicts, party turbulence, and challenges in coordinating responses to issues posed by the dominant BJP. Beyond party dynamics, the opposition must address concerns that resonate with the public.

While the BJP boasts a powerful communication apparatus, opposition parties bear the responsibility of proving their innocence. Whether it's addressing issues of dynastic rule, allegations of corruption, or past arguments in the name of secularism or social justice, opposition parties must actively engage with the people to rebuild trust. The focus for INDIA should be on winning over voters, not just engaging in a political battle against the BJP.
