Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Congress on Saturday released the fourth list of 46 candidates for the upcoming general elections. The seven-phase polls are set to be held between April 19 and June 1 to elect MPs for 543 Lok Sabha seats, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. In the fourth list, the party has fielded Digvijay Singh from Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh Lok Sabha Constituency.

Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai has given a ticket from Varanasi and former BSP leader Danish Ali who recently joined Congress will contest from UP's Amroha. Imran Masood will be fighting from the Saharanpur seat and Virender Rawat from Haridwar. Assam, Andaman, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, UP, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal are among the states mentioned on the list of candidates.

Congress's third list of 57 candidates was released on Thursday in which the party has fielded Mallikarjun Kharge's son-in-law Radhakrishna from Gulbarga and former Union minister Sushilkumar Shinde's daughter Praniti Shinde from Solapur. The party has mentioned that West Bengal Party President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will be fighting Lok Sabha polls from Berhampore.

The second list of 43 candidates was released on Tuesday. In the second list, the Congress has fielded sitting Lok Sabha MPs Gaurav Gogoi, Nakul Nath, and Rahul Kaswan from Assam's Jorhat, Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara, and Rajasthan's Churu parliamentary seats respectively. Additionally, Vaibhav Gehlot, son of veteran Congress leader and former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, will contest the Jalore Lok Sabha seat.

The Lok Sabha polls for 543 seats will be held in seven phases. The elections in 102 Lok Sabha constituencies across 21 States and Union Territories will be held in the first phase on April 19. The polling in the second phase will take place on April 26, followed by subsequent phases on May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. The counting of votes will take place on June 4. This year, nearly 97 crore voters are eligible to cast votes in the general election.
