Lucknow Fire News: At least 15 people were killed and several others injured after a massive fire broke out on Monday afternoon at a three-storey private coaching centre in Sector D of Aliganj, a residential area in north Lucknow. The blaze, which reportedly started around 3 pm at a building on Usha Mehta Marg in the Aliganj area, trapped multiple people inside. Fourteen fire tenders, including a hydraulic platform vehicle, were deployed to bring the fire under control.
Visuals from the incident show first responders creating large openings in the structure to form an additional exit, as the building reportedly had only one exit. This delay in evacuation may have cost crucial time and lives.

According to PTI, those trapped inside were brought out during the rescue operation, with some victims carried in body bags while others were wrapped in blankets.

The fire broke out in a building that, according to eyewitness Aman, housed a library and a computer training institute. Local residents helped rescue several people, though one person was critically injured after jumping from the building in an attempt to escape.
Eyewitnesses said several individuals jumped from the structure as flames rapidly engulfed the building, which also reportedly had a pet clinic and a student training centre.

CM Yogi Adityanath cuts short Aligarh visit after fire tragedy
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cut short his visit to Aligarh after being informed of the incident, which has so far claimed at least 15 lives, including children. He directed officials to reach the site immediately, speed up rescue and relief operations, ensure proper medical care for the injured, and maintain strict vigilance at all levels.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that most students had been evacuated and efforts were ongoing to rescue the remaining people.
"The fire broke out suddenly. It was an animation centre. While there is no immediate clarity about the sequence of events, it seems that the children ran towards the backside when the fire broke out… but they couldn't survive. While there is no clarity about the exact figure, I saw 11-12 bodies with my own eyes," Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who was present at the scene, told reporters.
PM Modi announces ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives and announced an ex gratia compensation of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased person. He also announced Rs 50,000 for those injured.
