Like Tejas, the Vande Bharat sleeper train will also run on four days a week. The semi-high speed train will have 20 fully air-conditioned (AC) coaches of First, Second, and Third classes in addition to two sleeper coaches.
The train is likely to accommodate 1,200 passengers in a single journey. The official timetable for the train is likely to be announced in the coming months, after which operations will commence.
Lucknow-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper: Stations
The train will travel from Lucknow to Mumbai via Delhi. The train will pass through Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Rampur, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, and Nizamuddin stations. After Nizamuddin, the semi-high-speed train will pass through Agra to reach Mumbai.
The reason for diversifying the Vande Bharat sleeper train is to facilitate the large number of Mumbai-bound passengers from Lucknow and Bareilly, among the major cities of Uttar Pradesh.
Currently, there are several trains running on the Bareilly-Mumbai and Lucknow-Mumbai routes. Still, the demand remains high, and so running the Vande Bharat Sleeper train will play a crucial role in facilitating the passengers.
Earlier, the first Vande Bharat train was also started from UP's Varanasi to Delhi. Currently, there are two Vande Bharat trains running between Varanasi and Delhi.
