Madhya Pradesh News: The Villagers of Padalya village in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district were left shocked when they learned that the circular stones they have been worshipping as family deities for years, were dinosaur eggs. People of Padalya and nearby localities crafted Deity-like figures on the 'sacred' stones, which they believed were their ancestors' totems. However, scientists, following a recent visit to the area, have determined that these structures are not revered totems but fossilised dinosaur eggs.
Dinosaur Fossils Fossil Park is situated in the Padalya of Dhar district, where dinosaur egg fossils were discovered approximately 17 years ago. Over the years, generations of villagers considered the circular egg structures emerging from their fields as miraculous and worshipped them in the name of different gods and goddesses. The villagers not only worshipped these round structures as ancestors' totems but they also enshrined them in the temple of Bhilad Baba in Padalya and worshipped in Patelpura with devotion, adorned with flower garlands, coconuts, and tilak.

The worship of these structures took on different names in various places, with traditions such as sacrificing animals for Bhillad Baba and designating him as the protector of cows in Patelpura. Similar rituals were observed in villages like Jhaba, Akhara, Jamanyapura, Ghoda, Takari, and others.
Recently, experts from Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences, Lucknow, and officials from the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department visited the site. Upon analysing the circular stone-like shapes, archaeologists made a startling discovery—these were not revered totems but fossilised eggs of the Titanosaurus dinosaur species. The experts then began educating the villagers about the reality of their findings. Later, the fossilised eggs were removed from both sites.
