Madhya Pradesh News:  A woman, who has filed multiple rape cases against different men, was denied bail by the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday. The woman sought bail from the court after being accused of extorting money from a man and vandalizing his shop. The order was delivered by Justice Maninder Bhatti, who after considering the facts recorded in the case diary, found that there were direct allegations of extortion against her.

The court noted that the woman had filed several cases in the past against different men, including two against her husband.

"The statement of Mohit Dudeja (complainant) also reflects that upon being threatened he gave a sum of Rs.1,80,000/- to the present applicant. It is also not in dispute that the present applicant has also lodged 5 cases under Section 376 I.P.C against different persons including two cases against one Vikas Ramrakhyani who, according to the applicant, is her husband," the order noted quoted Bar and Bench.

An FIR (First Information Report) was lodged against the woman for crimes including extortion, criminal intimidation, and others as per the Indian Penal Code (IPC). After the trial court refused to grant her bail, she appealed to the High Court.

The woman's lawyer argued that since no money, property, or valuable assets were transferred to her, the charge of extortion could not be substantiated. He contended that the trial court denied her bail application while citing previous cases of a similar nature against her. While terming the trial court's decision as 'unjustified', he told the Court that such past cases should not have been used as grounds to reject her application.

In contrast, both the complainant and the state argued that she has a history of filing false and frivolous cases. It was stated that she has a pattern of engaging in blackmail, resulting in several individuals becoming victims of her actions.

After reviewing the arguments presented, the Court expressed its reluctance to grant bail to the applicant.

The bail applicant was represented by Advocate Vishal Daniel, while Advocates CS Parmar and Aman Dawra appeared on behalf of the respondents.
