Mahakumbh Train: The Indian Railways is gearing up for the Maha Kumbh 2025, planning to facilitate the movement of passengers heading to the sacred event in Prayag. A range of special trains has been scheduled to connect various regions in South India with Prayag, with the timetable for six trains already released and additional services expected.
To ensure passenger convenience, several special trains will operate. Notably, a train will run from Gorakhpur to Visakhapatnam via Prayagraj, while another will connect Puri to Tundla, also passing through Prayagraj. Additionally, there will be a train service from Bhubaneswar to Tundla, again routing through Prayagraj.
Further connections include special trains running from Delhi to Patna, Cherlapalli to Danapur and Bidar to Cherlapalli via Prayagraj Chheoki. CPRO Shashikant Tripathi stated that more special trains will be added as needed to accommodate the influx of devotees.
Maha Kumbh Special Train Schedule
Here’s a list of the special trains and their schedules:
Train No. 08588: Visakhapatnam to Gorakhpur, operating on February 4, arriving at Chheoki at 6:20 AM.
Train No. 08587: Gorakhpur to Visakhapatnam, operating on February 7, arriving at Chheoki at 5:50 AM.
Train No. 08475: Puri to Tundla, operating on February 5 and 21, arriving at Prayagraj at 12:05 PM.
Train No. 08476: Tundla to Puri, operating on February 7 and 23, arriving at Prayagraj at 10:50 AM.
Train No. 08467: Bhubaneswar to Tundla, operating on February 14, arriving at Prayagraj at 12:05 PM.
Train No. 08468: Tundla to Bhubaneswar, operating on February 16, arriving at Prayagraj at 10:50 AM.
Train No. 04494: Anand Vihar Terminal to Patna, operating on February 6, arriving at Prayagraj at 10:30 AM.
Train No. 04493: Patna to Anand Vihar Terminal, operating on February 7, arriving at Prayagraj at 2:10 PM.
Train No. 07077: Cherlapalli to Danapur, operating on February 18 and 22, arriving at Chheoki at 5:46 PM.
Train No. 07078: Danapur to Cherlapalli, operating on February 20 and 24, arriving at Chheoki at 8:25 PM.
Train No. 07111: Bidar to Danapur, operating on February 14, arriving at Chheoki at 5:45 PM.
Train No. 07112: Danapur to Cherlapalli, operating on February 16, arriving at 11:10 PM.

As of Friday, the number of bathers participating in the Maha Kumbh has surpassed 31 crore, with a total of 31 crore 46 lakh devotees having taken a dip at the Sangam. On that day alone, 1 crore 82 lakh devotees bathed. The government anticipates that around 45 crore devotees will participate in the event, which began on Paush Purnima on January 13. Special arrangements are underway for the upcoming Vasant Panchami bathing festival, where an estimated 3 crore devotees are expected to attend.
