The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released the second list of 22 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. As per the list, the party has fielded Ram Bhadane from Dhule Rural, Chainsukh Madanlal Sancheti from Malkapur, Prakash Gunvantrao Bharsakale from Akot, Vijay Kamalkishor Agrawal from Akola West, Shyam Ramcharanji Khode from Washim (SC), Kewalram Tulshiram Kale from Melghat (ST), Dr. Milind Ramji Narote from Gadchiroli (ST), Deorao Vithoba Bhongle from Rajura, Krishnalal Bajirao Sahare from Brahmapuri, Karan Sanjay Deotale from Warora, Devyani Suhas Pharande from Nashik Central, Harishchandra Sakharam Bhoye from Vikramgad (ST), Kumar Uttamchand Ailani from Ulhasnagar, Ravindra Dagdu Patil from Pen, Bhimrao Tapkir from Khadakwasala, Sunil Dnyandev Kamble from ) Pune Cantonment (SC), Hemant Narayan Rasane from Kasba Peth, Ramesh Kashiram Karad from Latur Rural, Devendra Rajesh Kothe from Solapur City Central, Samadhan Mahadev Autade from Pandharpur, Satyajit Shivajirao Deshmukh from Shirala, and Gopichand Kundalik Padalkar from Jat.

With this, the BJP has named candidates for 121 seats in total, following its initial list of 99. The Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP, has yet to finalise seat-sharing details. Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule said this morning that discussions are still ongoing among the three allies over the allocation of the remaining seven to eight seats for the state assembly polls next month.

BJP in its first list retained 71 sitting MLAs. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar, ministers Girish Mahajan, Sudhir Mungantiwar and Chandrakant Patil were among the prominent faces featured in the first list.
Of the three Mahayuti alliance partners, the BJP and Ajit Pawar’s NCP have each released two candidate lists, while Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has issued one list so far.
The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. The current assembly term is set to end on November 26.
