Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Maharashtra is the second-largest contributor to the lower house of Parliament after Uttar Pradesh. It is a state that rarely experiences landslide victories. Maharashtra is well known for its political diversity which plays a crucial role in shaping national politics. It is a home for state-level parties as well as a stronghold for some of the big National parties such as BJP, NCP and Congress.
Maharashtra Lok Sabha Election 2024: Dates And Phase
The Election Commission of India has announced that the Lok Sabha polls for 543 seats will be held in seven phases starting with the first phase on April 19. The voting on the second phase will be held on April 26, the third phase on May 7, the fourth phase on May 13, the fifth phase on May 20, the sixth phase on May 25 and the polling in the seventh phase will take place on June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
In Maharashtra, the polling will be held in five phases with voting for 5 seats in the first phase on April 19. 8 seats will be voted in the second phase on April 26, while 11 seats will go for polling in the third phase on May 7. Another 11 seats will be voted on fourth phase on May 13 and 12 seats will be polled in the fifth phase which will be held on May 20.
Lok Sabha Constituencies In Maharashtra
There are 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra, out of which five seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates, four are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and 39 seats are unreserved. In the 2019 elections, BJP secured 23 seats, while Shiv Sena registered victory on 18 seats

Candidates For Maharashtra Lok Sabha Elections 2024
In the upcoming election, Maharashtra is expected to witness a complicated political landscape, with factions within the Shiv Sena and NCP endorsing different alliances. Shiv Sena is divided into Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde), while NCP is divided into NCP (Ajit Pawar) and NCP (Sharad Pawar). While one faction of Shiv Sena and NCP will be part of the NDA alliance, the other factions will extend their support to the INDIA bloc which is established to take on the BJP-led government.
