Dry Day In Tamil Nadu:  In light of Mahavir Jayanthi, the district collectors of Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts have issued an order that all Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (Tasmac) establishments under the Foreign Liquor (FL) I category, bars (FL2), star hotels and restaurants (FL3), and outlets selling imported liquor (FL11) will remain closed on April 10, 2025.

Authorities have warned that anyone caught selling alcohol illegally on that day will face consequences.

Generally, dry days are announced during major events, national holidays, election periods, and special celebrations like festivals. However, three states—Maharashtra, Bengaluru, and Delhi—have declared dry days from April 6 to April 14 in observance of Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, and Ambedkar Jayanti.

The state governments in India retain the authority to declare dry days in their respective regions.
