Dry Day In Hyderabad: Authorities have announced that there will be a temporary ban on the sale of alcohol in parts of Hyderabad and Secunderabad on April 6, Sunday in view of Ram Navami. The ban will be in place from 10 AM to 10 PM on Sunday.
An official declaration states that all bars and toddy stores connected to restaurants are required to stay closed during these hours. However, bars that are part of recognised clubs or hotels with star ratings are exempt from this regulation.
The action is intended to keep the peace and make sure the religious festivity runs well. In Telangana, Sri Rama Navami is extensively observed with processions and religious assemblies to commemorate the birth of Lord Rama.
Business owners have been advised by officials to abide by the directive and assist law enforcement.
Strict Enforcement Across Three Police Zones
Separate closure orders have been issued by:
- Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand
- Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty
- Rachakonda Commissioner G Sudheer Babu
Police have issued a warning that anyone found to be in violation of the closure orders will face severe consequences.
“Any person found violating the orders will be prosecuted,” the order states.
