A man casually walking through a train coach with a live snake draped around his neck has sparked shock and outrage online. The unsettling scene, caught on video aboard the Ahmedabad-bound Sabarmati Express, shows him asking passengers for money while parading the snake likely a non-venomous rat snake just inches from their faces. Some passengers, visibly uncomfortable, were seen giving him money, seemingly out of fear or pressure.
The video quickly gained traction after being posted on social media platform X. “Man with snake boarded at Mungaoli (M.P.) New way of taking out money from hard-working labour class inside Indian Railways,” the user wrote, tagging railway authorities.

In response, the RailwaySeva handle on X acknowledged the incident and asked the user to share journey details for further investigation.
“We will require your journey details (PNR / UTS no.) & mobile no. preferably via DM... You may also raise your concern directly on railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or dial 139 for speedy redressal,” the post read. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has also been alerted.
