Mangaluru Traffic Advisory: Traffic restrictions have been issued by the Mangaluru City Police for the November 10 Niveus Mangalore Marathon 2024. The Mangalore Runners Club is organising the marathon, which is scheduled to begin at Mangala Stadium and is anticipated to draw around 5,000 participants.

Anupam Agrawal, the City Police Commissioner, has issued a traffic advisory that will be in force on the day of the marathon from 4 to 10 AM. Before turning at Dixie Cross and moving toward Panambur Beach Road, the route will pass through a number of important parts of the city, such as Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill), Chilimbi, Urwa Store, Kottara Chowki, Kodikal Cross, Kulur, KIOCL Junction, and NMPT Service Road.

According to a TOI report, the runners would take the same path back to Mangala Stadium after finishing the beach course.

Parking Restrictions

There will be a number of parking and traffic limitations along the marathon route because of the event. According to the police, parking and vehicular traffic are prohibited in the following areas:

  • From Mannagudda to Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill)
  • From Urwa Market to Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill)
  • From KSRTC via Lal Bagh to Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill)
  • From Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) to Kottara Chowki
  • Along the service road from Kottara Chowki towards Kodikal Cross
  • From Kodikal Cross to Kulur New Bridge
  • Along Tannirbavi Beach Road up to Tannirbavi Beach

Furthermore, during the marathon, no vehicles from the cross roads on the left side of the route will be allowed to reach the main roads.

Check Alternate Routes

  • Vehicles heading from PVS to Narayana Guru Circle should use the route via Lal Bagh and KSRTC.
  • Those traveling from Kudroli Mannagudda or Urwa Market to Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) should take the alternate route via Mannagudda, Ballalbagh/Nehru Avenue Road, Lal Bagh, and KSRTC.
  • Motorists travelling from KSRTC to Udupi should use the road through Bejai Kapikad and Kuntikana.
  • Vehicles traveling from KPT/Kuntikana to Udupi should turn right at the Kodikal Cross Flyover, continue on the one-way road until Kulur Kottara Cross, and then turn left at the end of the flyover near Kulur Old Bridge, passing via Kulur New Bridge and KIOCL.
  • Vehicles from Kavoor and Panjimogaru should take the Indian Oil Petrol Pump service route to reach Udupi.
  • Drivers arriving from Ashok Nagar, Shediguri, Dambel, and Sultan Battery should use the route through Urwa Market and Mannagudda.
