Gorakhpur Traffic Advisory: In preparation for the Chhath festival, the city’s traffic management system will undergo significant changes over the next two days. These diversions will be in effect from 2 PM to 8 PM on Thursday and from 2 AM to 10 AM on Friday.

To ensure smooth traffic flow during this time, police personnel will be stationed at various locations throughout the city. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who violates the designated route diversions. However, ambulances, emergency vehicles and pilgrims will be allowed to pass through without restriction.

Heavy vehicles approaching Gorakhpur from Lucknow and Sant Kabir Nagar will be redirected via Nausad to Baghagada and the Ramnagar Karjhan four-lane road during the diversion periods. Similarly, vehicles coming from Varanasi, Azamgarh, Mau and Barhalganj will also be directed to use Baghagada and Ramnagar Karjahan to reach their destinations.

Vehicles from Kushinagar will be routed via Koni Fourlane through Ramnagar Karjahan, with access to the city strictly prohibited. Likewise, heavy vehicles coming from Deoria will also be directed via Ramnagar Karjahan and Baghagada, with no entry allowed into Gorakhpur.

Gorakhpur Traffic Advisory: Heavy Vehicles Diversion

Public transportation, including roadways buses, oil tankers, gas tankers, milk vehicles, and other government vehicles, will take a designated route via University Crossing, Mohaddipur Crossing, Charfatak Overbridge, Kauwabagh Bypass Road, Asuran Crossing, Khazanchi Crossing, Sports College Crossing, Ramnagar Intersection, and Industrial Area Turn towards Bargadwan Intersection, Farenda, and Sonauli.

Gorakhpur Traffic Advisory: Heavy Vehicles Restriction

Additionally, heavy vehicles will not be permitted to enter the Gorakhnath temple area from Farenda and PPganj. Instead, they will be redirected from Bargadwan Square to the Industrial Area, then to Sports College, Khajanji Square, Asuran Square, and Kauwabagh Road towards Deoria and Kushinagar.

Gorakhpur Traffic Advisory: Buses Rerouted

Buses heading towards Lucknow and Varanasi from Gorakhpur Bus Station will be diverted at Padleganj and Mohaddipur Chauraha, using the Deoria Bypass Road and Ramnagar Karjahan. Four-wheelers may also face diversions as necessary.

Gorakhpur Traffic Advisory: Vehicles Prohibited On THESE Roads

There will be a complete ban on the movement of four-wheelers, autos and e-rickshaws from Laldighi to Geeta Press and Reti Chauraha. Additionally, vehicles travelling from Phal Mandi Crossing towards Rajghat Bridge are also prohibited.

Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconvenience during the festival celebrations.
