Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday over the prevailing situation in Manipur and said that the latter's ideologies have set Manipur ablaze.
In a video posted on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Gandhi said, "You would be surprised why is the PM of the country not going to Manipur and speaking on it. It is because Narendra Modi is the PM of only a selected few, of RSS. He has nothing to do with Manipur. He knows that his ideology has set Manipur ablaze."
"If you are patriotic, you will be pained when the country, or any citizen of the country is hurt. You will be sad. You won't even realise why your mood has been spoilt. But they (BJP) don't feel any pain. The people of BJP-RSS are not feeling any pain, because they are doing the work of dividing India," he said.

The Congress leader further said that the saffron party is only interested in power and don't care about the pain of the country.
"For power, they will burn Manipur, they will burn the whole country. They don't care about the sorrow and pain of the country," he said.
"You all saw what's happening in Manipur. You would have thought that when a state is burning the country's prime minister would say something. Many of you would have thought that the prime minister would at least visit Imphal and meet people," Gandhi said.
The Opposition has been constantly targeting the PM Modi-led government for its silence on the violence-hit state.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday accepted the no-confidence motion against the government moved by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on behalf of opposition parties of I.N.D.I.A alliance. After Gogoi moved the motion, the Speaker asked about the number of members supporting the motion. He admitted the motion and said the time of the debate will be decided later.
Opposition MPs said that they know the numbers are in favour of the government in Lok Sabha but the no-confidence motion is a way to seek reply from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various issues including the violence in Manipur.
