Manoj Kumar Death: Legendary actor Manoj Kumar on Friday passed away in a Mumbai hospital due to heart-related complications. The 87-year-old veteran actor was known for his inspiring roles in patriotic movies. Apart from being an actor, Kumar was also a film director, screenwriter, lyricist, and editor. The demise of the actor has sent a shockwave among his fans and the people from many industries.

Several prominent personalities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, have paid tribute to the legendary actor. While sharing some of his pictures with the inspiring actor, PM Modi remembered him as the "spirit of national pride". He further stated that the late actor's works will inspire the future generations.

PM Modi Pays Tributes To Manoj Kumar

"Deeply saddened by the passing of legendary actor and filmmaker Shri Manoj Kumar Ji. He was an icon of Indian cinema, who was particularly remembered for his patriotic zeal, which was also reflected in his films. Manoj Ji's works ignited a spirit of national pride and will continue to inspire generations. My thoughts are with his family and admirers in this hour of grief. Om Shanti," PM Modi wrote in a post on X.

Inspiring Career Of Manoj Kumar

Kumar was born in Abbottabad (now in Pakistan) on July 24, 1937, and migrated to India with his family during the partition. He had a passion for acting since his early days and made his Bollywood debut in 1957 in the movie Fashion. However, he got recognition for his role in the movie Kanch Ki Gudiya in 1961.

He later worked in several hit movies, including Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Purab Aur Paschim, Woh Kaun Thi?, Shor, Gumnaam, Shaheed, Himalay Ki God Mein, Patthar Ke Sanam, Hariyali Aur Rasta, Mera Naam Joker, Do Badan, Neel Kamal, Sanyasi, and Jai Hind. The legendary actor was a recipient of several prestigious awards, such as the Padma Shri in 1992 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015 for his immense contribution to Indian cinema.
