Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati's nephew Akash Anand got married to Dr Pragya Siddharth. Pragya is the daughter of a former BSP MP and one of the most trusted leaders of the BSP chief, Dr Ashok Siddharth. He has been the party's Rajya Sabha MP from 2016 to 2022. He was also made MLC in 2009. Recently, he was also given the charge for the Gujarat elections.

Among the guests present at the wedding are the former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Singh Badal; the National Spokesperson of the BSP, Sudhindra Bhadoria; Ramji Gautam; and MLA in the Punjab Assembly, Chatrapal Singh, among others.

The reception party will be held in Noida on February 29. Pragya is a doctor by profession.

Akash is being considered the political successor of Mayawati. He is the son of the younger brother of Mayawati, Anand Kumar. He is also the national coordinator of the party and is actively working to strengthen the party in states such as Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, among others.

Akash, after completing his studies in London, has been seen with Mayawati on various public platforms. He was appointed as the national coordinator in 2019.
