In a shocking incident, a doctor at a private hospital in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, is under investigation after a family alleged that he treated their young child’s head injury with Fevikwik instead of medically recommended stitches.

Sardar Jaspinder Singh, a resident of a premium society in Jagriti Vihar, stated that his minor son was playing at home when he accidentally hit his head on the corner of a table, causing a bleeding wound.

Concerned for their child, the family immediately rushed him to Bhagyashree Hospital.

The family alleged that the attending doctor instructed them to buy a Rs 5 tube of Fevikwik, an instant adhesive commonly used for household repairs. They claimed the doctor then applied the glue directly onto the child’s open wound, India Today reported.

The parents said their child cried continuously from the pain, but the doctor dismissed their concerns.

“The doctor said the child was just nervous and the pain would subside," the family alleged in their complaint.

Despite repeated attempts to calm the child, his discomfort reportedly worsened. Unable to sleep through the night and still in significant pain, the family took him to Lokpriya Hospital the next morning.

Doctors there were reportedly shocked to find adhesive glue on the injury. According to the family, the medical team at Lokpriya Hospital spent nearly three hours carefully removing the hardened Fevikwik before administering four stitches to properly close the wound.

The family warned that the situation could have been far more dangerous. They said that if the Fevikwik had spread near the toddler’s eye or entered it, the consequences could have been “serious and life-threatening."

Meerut Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria confirmed that the case has been officially brought to his attention.

“The child’s family has filed a complaint. An investigation committee has been formed, and action will be taken based on the findings," he said.

He added that the inquiry would assess whether medical standards were violated and if any disciplinary or legal action against the doctor is warranted.

The family has also taken the matter to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Office, urging strict action to prevent such alleged negligence in the future.
