Meerut Murder Case: In a fresh update on the shocking Meerut murder case, jail officials have confirmed that Muskan Rastogi, the key accused in the murder of her husband, Saurabh Rajput is pregnant and will now receive specialised care behind bars.
Senior Jail Superintendent Dr. Viresh Raj Sharma informed that Muskan was taken to the gynaecology department of a local medical college for an ultrasound, which confirmed that she is approximately four to six weeks pregnant.
“An earlier medical check-up had suggested the possibility of pregnancy. Today’s ultrasound confirmed it,” Dr Sharma told the press.
Following the confirmation, arrangements have been made by jail authorities to ensure Muskan receives appropriate medical attention as per the standard procedure for pregnant inmates. This includes routine check-ups, nutritional support, and close monitoring by healthcare professionals.
Muskan was taken for the ultrasound around 11:45 am on Friday, accompanied by police personnel and a pharmacist. She was brought back to the jail by 1:30 pm. Officials also noted that no family members have visited her in prison so far.
Muskan Rastogi was arrested along with her partner Sahil Shukla on March 19 for the gruesome murder of her husband. The two are accused of killing Saurabh Rajput, cutting his body into four pieces, and hiding it inside a cement-filled drum. After committing the crime, they reportedly fled to Himachal Pradesh. Muskan later confessed the incident to her family, which led to their arrest.
Both Muskan and Sahil remain in judicial custody as the investigation continues.
