Meghalaya News: Meghalaya Police on Monday arrested Sonam Raghuvanshi in the murder case of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during the couple's honeymoon in Shillong. Besides, three others have also been nabbed. As per state DGP Nongrang, cited by PTI, Sonam had allegedly hired these men to kill her husband.

Sonam had been missing for the last 17 days. She surrendered before the police in Ghazipur, while three other assailants were arrested in overnight raids. She is currently being kept at a One Stop Centre for further inquiry after her medical examination, the news agency reported.

"One person was picked up from UP and another two accused were apprehended from Indore by the SIT. Sonam surrendered at the Nandganj police station in UP, and was subsequently arrested," DGP Nongrang said, adding that the operation is on in MP to arrest more people involved in the crime.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took to social media to announce that the state police have arrested three persons in Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder case. He also said a woman has surrendered, without clarifying if it was his wife, Sonam.

Within 7 days a major breakthrough has been achieved by the #meghalayapolice in the Raja murder case … 3 assailants who are from Madhya Pradesh have been arrested, female has surrendered and operation still on to catch 1 more assailant .. well done,” CM Sangma posted on X.
