Flight Refund Rules: Can a passenger claim for a refund after missing the flight? While a general perception is that the airlines do not return any amount in this case, the passengers can claim at least a share of the total cost. The passengers are required to cancel or reschedule their tickets at least a few hours before departure; however, they can still claim a refund as per the "no-shows" rules. The airlines have made this rule for the passengers who miss the flight due to various reasons. The rules suggest that the passengers are entitled to refunds, credits, or insurance claims depending on the circumstances.
