The Odisha Train accident that left over 250 people dead and more than 1,000 people injured was a nightmare coming true. Several heart-wrenching stories came to light following the accident. While some believed they got a 'second life', a media report also showed the remains (letters and toys) of those who were travelling on the train that day left.

Meanwhile, a man who suffered injuries in the tragic accident was inadvertently put in a truck with dead bodies that were to be shifted to a morgue. However, he gained consciousness and signaled the rescuers following which he was shifted to a hospital. The man has been identified as Biswajit Malik. His father told NDTV about the whole incident.

Despite suffering severe injuries, the 24-year-old was able to escape the crumpled coach by himself. While attempting to crawl away from the rail tracks, he had collapsed. He was placed on a truck with other dead bodies by the rescuers after being taken for dead, according to a report by NDTV.

After he regained consciousness while in the truck, he signaled the rescuers, his father who is an ironmonger in Kolkata, was quoted as saying by NDTV.

"He called us after somehow leaving the train by himself. But once he saw the condition of his arm and the bleeding, he passed out. When he came to, he saw he was lying under a pile of eight or 10 corpses. He had injured his right arm, but his left arm was okay. So he started waving and caught the attention of the rescue personnel," Malik was quoted as saying.

"He was then sent to the Gopalpur hospital, and not the morgue," said the man further who took his son to Kolkata from Gopalpur. The medical staff had not only refused to release his son and but also to send an ambulance. According to the doctors at the SSKM hospital, where the injured is going under treatment at present, Biswajit Malik's arm has been injured and his leg is injured.

At least 275 people were killed, while more than 1,000 were injured in the accident that took place near the Bahanaga Bazar area on June 2.

Odisha's Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena in a statement issued on Monday morning said that as many as 151 bodies have been identified so far.

"All bodies after the due process are handed over for transfer to their destination. All arrangements for free transportation of the bodies by hearses/ dead body carriers till destination have been made by Odisha government," said Jena in the statement.
