Weather Update: Heavy rainfall has been forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra. A 'red' alert has also been issued for the same on Sunday.
"Monsoon is in its active phase. There is a deep depression in North East MP. There is low pressure in Southwest Rajasthan. We expect extremely heavy rainfall in western Madhya Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan region, Goa and Central Maharashtra for which we have also issued a red alert. There will be no rain in Delhi-NCR in the next two days,"IMD scientist, Dr Naresh Kumar told news agency ANI.
In its most recent press bulletin, IMD forecasted thunderstorms and mild to moderate rainfall over the next seven days for Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.
During the week, isolated to scattered rainfall is predicted for Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, and scattered to fairly extensive rainfall for Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Gujarat's Valsad faced waterlogging and flood-like situations following heavy rainfall in the region on Saturday. Over the past two days, the state has seen flood-like conditions in several areas due to the heavy rainfall. Throughout the next five days, the IMD has predicted further rain and thundershowers in several Gujarat regions.
Weather In South India
The IMD forecasted moderately widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall across Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and coastal Karnataka for the next five days in the South Peninsula area. During the same time period, isolated to sporadic rainfall fell across the regions of Rayalaseema, inland Karnataka, Yanam, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, and Tamil Nadu.
