Most Delayed Train In India: Train running late in India remains a prolonged issue, mostly in winter when the dense fog contributes to the delay of trains. Recently, some media reports claimed that a goods train in India took three years,8 months, and seven days to reach its destination, making it the most delayed train in India.
It was reported that the train carrying 1,316 bags of Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) fertilizer began its journey from Visakhapatnam to Basti in Uttar Pradesh in 2014. Reports claimed it departed from Visakhapatnam on November 10, 2014, and reached Uttar Pradesh's Bastil on July 25, 2018, completing a journey that normally takes 42 hours, in 3 years, 8 months, and 7 days.
The wagon was booked in the name of Ramchandra Gupta, a businessman of Basti, through Indian Potash Limited (IPL), according to Sanjay Yadav, who was the Chief Public Relation Officer of the North Eastern Railway zone at that time.

Did It Really Happen?
A fact-check by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) revealed that the story was "misleading" and it did not actually take three years, 8 months, and seven days to reach its destination. It also mentioned that no Indian Railways goods train ever took that long to reach its destination.
"Several news reports and social media posts claim that a goods train took over three years to reach its destination. This claim is #Misleading. No goods train in Indian Railways has ever taken such time to reach its destination," wrote PIB on X.
