Indore News: A video went viral showing a Zomato delivery agent in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore being forced to remove his Santa Claus costume while delivering an order on Christmas. The incident took place when the delivery man, dressed as Santa, was approached by a member of the Hindu Jagran Manch. The man interrogated the delivery agent and insisted he takes off the outfit. 

The man asked the delivery agent if he dressed as Lord Ram on Diwali. "Are you delivering an order by dressing up as Santa Claus?" he asked. To this, the delivery agent nodded yes. "Do you ever go to people's homes dressed as Lord Ram on Diwali"?  To this, the delivery agent responded, "No, but now the company has asked me to wear this costume".

In the viral video, the Hindu Jagran Manch member can be heard telling the delivery agent that the majority of food is served to Hindus and that India is a Hindu Rashtra.

"We are Hindus, what message are we giving to children? Is it necessary that the message will only be conveyed if you only dress up as Santa Claus. If you really want to send a message, dress up as Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad,” he told the delivery man, as quoted by NDTV.

The man also said that dressing delivery agents as Santa Claus could be part of a broader attempt at religious conversion. “Such temptations are often used for religious conversion,” he alleged. He also criticized the intentions of food delivery companies, questioning, “What is the mindset of the owners? What is their intention behind making agents wear such costumes?” he said. 

The incident took place on the day when the nation was celebrating Christmas on December 25, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity. Born in Bethlehem, Jesus is revered for his teachings of love, compassion, and humanity.
