Madhya Pradesh Road Accident: A truck flipped and crashed into an autorickshaw, killing at least seven people and injuring three in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa, according to authorities on Thursday. The victims were returning after taking a dip in the holy Ganga river in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh when the tragedy occurred at around 2:30 pm on National Highway-30, they added.
The deceased included a woman, two men, and four children.
After learning about the incident, police launched a rescue effort and took the injured to a hospital for medical attention.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vivek Lal, the truck on NH-30 lost control and flipped on an autorickshaw, trapping its passengers.
He said that there was serious damage to both vehicles.
According to the official, three people subsequently passed away from their wounds, while four people died instantly.
After bathing in the Ganga river at Prayagraj, the autorickshaw passengers were heading back to Naigarhi in the Mauganj district, which borders Rewa. According to the authority, the vehicle was traveling from Prayagraj to Rewa.
Ramjeet Jaiswal (38), Pinky (35), Heeralal Jaiswal (65), Praveen (12), Ambika (8), Mansi (7), and Arvind (6) are the names of the deceased.
According to the official, an inquiry is being conducted to ascertain if the mishap was caused by technological error or negligence.
