According to the Jagran.com report, the girl was near an ATM when a Mahindra Bolero screeched to a halt. Three men jumped out, gagged her, and forced her into the vehicle before fleeing. Villagers quickly gave chase on bikes and cars, cornering the Bolero on Ambapura Road, where the kidnappers rammed other vehicles in a desperate escape attempt.
The kidnapping ordeal ended in terror near a village after a dramatic chase that stretched almost 20 kilometres. The Bolero carrying the abductors collided with a herd of goats and broke down shortly after, forcing them to flee on foot and leaving the terrified girl behind. Villagers quickly alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and rescued her. Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi stated that the culprits have been identified through the survivor’s account, and multiple teams are now conducting raids to apprehend them.
"A case has been registered against all three accused. Multiple police teams are conducting raids to arrest them. The girl is now with her family," he said.
In a separate incident, an 11-year-old girl allegedly kidnapped from Koparkhairane on Monday morning was rescued within two hours of a complaint being filed. In a joint operation, the Navi Mumbai Police and Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the minor from a train in Madhya Pradesh.
The girl, an orphan living with her maternal aunt in Sector 19, had left home around 10:30 am without informing anyone. When she didn’t return, her aunt registered a missing person complaint, prompting police to investigate her workplace and identify 20-year-old Ashfaq Alam from Bihar, also missing, as a suspect.
Tracking calls and train sounds, police focused on the Hazrat Nizamuddin Express, which departed from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on Monday. Though the pair switched off their phones and briefly evaded authorities at Bhusawal, the GRP intercepted them at Burhanpur at 4:30 am on Tuesday.
