In a shocking and tragic incident, two men have been arrested for allegedly raping a Class 11 student in Bhopal, extorting money from her, and attempting to coerce her into converting to Islam, all while using four different vehicles.
According to police, the girl, who attends a prominent school in the Shahpura area, became acquainted with a man named Ausaf Ali Khan through a friend. As their relationship developed, Ausaf invited her on a drive and took her to a remote location in Khanugaon, where he raped her inside the car.
As reported by NDTV, the attack was planned in advance. Ausaf’s friend, Maaz Khan, a gym owner, was stationed outside in the dark, where he filmed the assault. The men then used the footage to blackmail the victim, threatening to make the video public unless she handed over Rs 1 lakh. Authorities confirmed that the distressed student was able to give them Rs 40,000, but they continued to sexually abuse and blackmail her.
Police stated that the men assaulted her in a total of four vehicles, including two sedans and a Mahindra Thar. The vehicles have since been confiscated.
When the student stopped responding to the men’s attempts to contact her and blocked them, Ausaf allegedly sent the video to her friends and began pressuring her to convert to Islam and pray. Eventually, the victim confided in her family, who supported her in filing police complaint.
The police confirmed that both men have been arrested, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case. The SIT, led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, will also examine whether the men had targeted any other women.
When Ausaf was presented in court in Bhopal, he was reportedly attacked by lawyers in the courtroom.
