Mukhtar Ansari Death News: The body of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who died of cardiac arrest, was brought to his Ghazipur residence for last rites amid heavy police deployment by the district administration. Sibgatullah Ansari, the elder brother of Mukhtar Ansari, stated that the final rites will take place on Saturday.

"We received the body after some delay so the last rites cannot be performed tonight. It will be done tomorrow morning. I request everybody to pray for him," Sibgatullah Ansari told news agency ANI on Friday.

According to hospital sources, the post-mortem on gangster Mukhtar Ansari confirmed that he died of cardiac arrest. However, his family has alleged that he died due to "slow poisoning" in the jail. Ansari, a former MLA who had been charged in over 60 cases, died on Thursday night.

The autopsy was conducted by a panel of five doctors. Umar Ansari, the younger son of Mukhtar Ansari, was present at the Rani Durgavati Medical College when
the post-mortem was conducted. Following the post-mortem, Mukhtar Ansari's body was transported in a long convoy of vehicles from Banda to his hometown of Ghazipur.

Mukhtar Ansari's son Umar Ansari and Abbas Ansari's wife and their two cousins were present inside the ambulance while carrying the body, police officials said. Before arriving in Ghazipur, the convoy passed through the districts of Prayagraj, Bhadohi, Kaushambi, and Varanasi.

Ahead of his last rites, the security arrangements have been tightened in Ghazipur and surrounding districts, including Mau. According to the family, his body will be laid to rest at the Kali Bagh graveyard, which is roughly 0.5 kilometres from the Ansari family's home.

"Preparations are being done for the last rites. everyone will get the chance to see him. I request all present here to maintain the decorum..." Mohammad Suhaib Ansari, a Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA and nephew of Mukhtar Ansari, said.
