Mumbai BMW Hit-And-Run Case: The Mumbai police recreated the sequence of events in the BMW hit-and-run case from CJ House in Worli to the Sea Link on Thursday in the presence of the main accused Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah. According to the police, Mihir confessed that he was driving the car at the time of the incident, which resulted in the death of 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa who was a resident of Worli Koliwada. Her husband was riding the scooter while she was riding the pillion, police said. The husband also sustained injuries in the incident.

During the interrogation, the police made Mihir Shah and his driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, sit face-to-face. Both accused confessed to the crime. Mihir, the prime accused in the Worli hit-and-run case, admitted to the police that he had made a "mistake". "I have made a big mistake, my career is over," Mihir told police during his confession, News18 reported.

The 24-year-old Mihir was arrested from Virar on Tuesday after remaining untraceable for two days. He was on the run since his car hit a scooter on Dr Annie Besant Road in Worli on Sunday, July 7. Mihir, who is in police custody till July 16, has claimed he possesses a driving licence, but the document was yet to be recovered, police said. So far, the statements of 14 people, including Mihir Shah's mother, sisters, and friends, have been recorded, the official said. Mihir's father is also an accused in the case and is currently out on bail.

The incident in Worli occurred less than two months after a similar case in Pune, where a luxury car allegedly driven by a 17-year-old under the influence of alcohol crashed into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two software engineers in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area in the early hours of May 19.
