Mumbai BMW Hit-And-Run Case: In a significant development in the Worli hit-and-run case that claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman in Mumbai, the main accused, 24-year-old Mihir Shah, has made a startling confession. During police interrogation, Mihir has admitted to being a habitual drinker, Jagran.com reported. Meanwhile, the accused was sent to Judicial custody till July 30.

As the investigation into the Mumbai BMW hit-and-run case unfolds, more details have emerged. Mihir Shah, who previously confessed to driving the car at the time of the incident, admitted his role in the tragic accident that led to the death of Kaveri Nakhwa, a resident of Worli Koliwada. Kaveri was riding pillion on a scooter driven by her husband, who also sustained injuries in the incident, police said.

During his interrogation, Mihir admitted to the police that he had made a grave mistake. "I have made a big mistake, my career is over," Mihir confessed, according to a report by News18.

Last week, Mumbai police recreated the sequence of events in the hit-and-run case, retracing the route from CJ House in Worli to the Sea Link. The reenactment was conducted in the presence of Mihir Shah. The 24-year-old Mihir was arrested from Virar on July 9 after remaining untraceable for two days. He was on the run since his car hit a scooter on Dr Annie Besant Road in Worli on Sunday, July 7.

The incident in Worli occurred less than two months after a similar case in Pune, where a luxury car allegedly driven by a 17-year-old under the influence of alcohol crashed into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of two software engineers in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area in the early hours of May 19.
