Mumbai- Kanniyakumari Trains: Southern Railway has introduced special train services between Mumbai and Kanniyakumari to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the festive season.
According to an official statement, Train No. 01005 Mumbai CST-Kanniyakumari Weekly Express Special will depart from Mumbai CST at 12:20 AM on March 10 and 17. It is scheduled to reach Kanniyakumari at 12:15 PM the following day.
For the return journey, Train No. 01006 Kanniyakumari-Mumbai CST Weekly Express Special will leave Kanniyakumari at 2:15 PM on March 11 and 18, arriving at Mumbai CST at 4:15 AM, two days later.
The trains will have a mix of coaches to accommodate different passenger categories. The composition includes two AC two-tier coaches, nine AC three-tier coaches, five sleeper class coaches, two general second-class coaches, a luggage-cum-brake van and a second-class coach designed for disabled passengers.
Advance reservations for these special services are now open. Passengers are advised to book their tickets early to avoid last-minute inconvenience, the Southern Railway statement added.

Meanwhile, to accommodate the increased passenger demand during Holi, South Central Railway (SCR) has also announced special train services between Kacheguda and Madar.
Train number 07701 will depart from Kacheguda on March 11 and 16, while train number 07702 will leave Madar on March 13 and 18. These trains will halt at several stations, including Nanded, Akola, Rani Kamalpati, Ujjain, and Ajmer.
SCR officials have advised passengers to take note of the schedule and plan their journeys accordingly.
