Mussoorie Traffic: In view of an increase in tourists influx in Mussoorie around Christmas, December 25, Winter Carnival (from 26 to 30) and New Year, the district administration and police have issued a detailed traffic plan, announcing new measures to trackle traffic this time, jagran.com reported. The traffic police has issued a one-way traffic plan for tourists coming from Asharodi and Haridwar-Rishikesh, going to Mussoorie. In view of security arrangements, 225 duty points have been made in the district, adequate number of policemen will be present here. Force has also been called from other districts for security arrangements and better traffic management. The policemen on duty at the barrier points will cover the diversion when there is traffic congestion. SP City Pramod Kumar informed that strict action will be taken against drunk driving and overspeeding.
Mussoorie Traffic: Surveillance Through Drones
Traffic Superintendent of Police Mukesh Thakur said that for better traffic management, horse mounted squads will be deployed at crowded places. Drone surveillance will be done at three places in Mussoorie and Dehradun. Apart from this, six cranes will be deployed in Dehradun and two in Mussoorie. The cranes will lift the vehicles parked on the roadside. Announcement systems have been installed at 24 places while 536 Smart City and 166 police cameras will monitor the entire route.

Delhi/Roorkee/Saharanpur/ to Mohand-Asharodi-ISBT-Shimla Bypass-St. Jutes Chowk-Ballupur Chowk-Garhi Cantt Tiraha-Anarwala Tiraha-Johri Village-Mussoorie Road-Kuthal Gate to Mussoorie.
Vehicles going from Haridwar-Rishikesh to Mussoorie via Jogiwala.
Mussoorie Traffic: Plan A
Haridwar/Rishikesh to Harrawala-Mohkampur flyover-Jogiwala-U-turn from Kailash Hospital-Six Number Bridge-Ring Road-Ladpur Tiraha-Sahastradhara Crossing-IT Park-Kirsali Chowk-Sai Mandir Tiraha-Mussoorie Diversion-Kuthalgate to Mussoorie.
Mussoorie Traffic: Plan B
Vehicles coming from Haridwar Nepali Farm Tiraha-Bhaniyawala Tiraha-Airport Tiraha-Thano Road- Maharana Pratap Chowk-Ladpur Tiraha-Sahastradhara Crossing-IT Park-Kirsali Chowk-Sai Mandir Tiraha-Mussoorie Diversion-Kuthalgate to Mussoorie.
Mussoorie to Delhi/Saharanpur/Roorkee/Rishikesh/Haridwar and Vikasnagar return route.
Mussoorie-Kuthal Gate-Old Mussoorie Road-Rajpur-Sai Mandir-Kirsali Chowk-IT Park-Tapovan Bypass Road-Nalapani Chowk-Tapovan Gate-Ladpur Tiraha-Number Six Bridge-Jogiwala to Rishikesh and Haridwar.
Mussoorie Traffic: 18 Barriers And 18 Diversion Points
18 barrier points have been made from Asharodi to Mussoorie and back to Thano Tiraha. These include Asharodi, Kuthalgate, Kirsali Chowk, Sahastradhara Crossing, Maharana Pratap Chowk, Jogiwala Chowk, Bengali Kothi Tiraha, ISBT, Harrawala Chowk, Nataraj Chowk, Ranipokhari Tiraha, Barrage Tiraha, Shyampur Phatak, Nepali Farm, Chhidarwala, Airport Tiraha, Bhogpur Tiraha and Thano Tiraha. Apart from this, there will be diversion points at Shimla Bypass Chowk, St. Jutes Tiraha, Kamala Palace, Ballupur Chowk, Cantt Tiraha, CSD Tiraha, Kuthalgate, Sai Mandir Tiraha, Mussoorie Diversion, Old Rajpur Road Tiraha, IT Park Tiraha, Tapovan Tiraha, Ladpur Tiraha, Jogiwala Chowk, Kailash Hospital Cut, Bhaniyawala Tiraha, Airport and Kargi Chowk.
Mussoorie Traffic: Traffic And Parking Plan
-The traffic coming towards Mussoorie will be operated as normal from Kingscraig towards Library and Picture Palace.
-Plan B will be implemented when 70 per cent of the parking capacity is utilized in Mussoorie area.
Mussoorie Traffic: Plan-B - Vehicle Parking Capacity At Kingcraig 550
Under this plan, shuttle vehicle service will be started. The vehicles of tourists going towards Mussoorie at King Craig will be parked at King Craig parking from where tourists will be sent to their destination through shuttle service.
Plan C will be implemented if Kingcraig parking is full.
Plan-C: Parking capacity of 500 vehicles in Gajji
Under this plan, tourists will be sent to their destination through shuttle vehicle service from Gajji Band.
In case the parking of Gajji Band is full, Plan D will be implemented.
Plan-D: Vehicle parking capacity at Kuthal Gate 1000
Under this plan, tourists will be sent to their destination through shuttle vehicle service from Kuthal Gate.
Mussoorie Traffic: Shuttle Service For First Time In Mussoorie
Keeping in mind the crowd in Mussoorie, shuttle service has been started for the first time. The shuttle service will run from King Craig Parking, Gajji Band and Kuthal Gate.
There are 12 parking lots in Mussoorie, which have a capacity of 3065 cars, 20 buses and 100 two-wheelers. When the parking is full, tourists will be sent to Mussoorie by shuttle service.

A real time parking app has been developed to provide accurate information about the parking situation. Hoteliers will keep providing updates about parking through the app.
Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Jai Bharat Singh said that the district administration and police department have made full preparations for the New Year. Keeping in mind the crowd, all plans have already been made.
