A robbery took place at a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in the Sakhardara area of Nagpur, Maharashtra, after a man allegedly threw chilli powder into the eyes of bank employees at the cash counter and fled with Rs 4.53 lakh.

The accused customer casually entered the SBI branch of Sakhardara and directly rushed to the cash counter of the bank. Before the bank staff could react, the accused threw chilli powder into the eyes of the bank employees.

A video of the incident is being circulated widely on social media. In the video, a man dressed in an orange kurta, covering his face with white cloth, is seen throwing red chilli powder on the bank staff.

The sudden attack caused panic among the bank staff. Taking advantage of the chaos, the accused allegedly grabbed more than Rs 4 lakh from the cash counter and fled. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing the accused throwing chilli powder at the bank employees.

After the bank staff alerted the police, teams immediately swung into action and blockaded the area. Police teams were also alerted and began checking the CCTV footage to trace the accused.

The police arrested the suspect within 30 minutes after the robbery and seized Rs 4.53 lakh from him. The investigation into the case is underway.
