Namo Bharat Train Update: The high-speed Namo Bharat Train, already operational in parts of Delhi-NCR, is set to revolutionise travel and boost connectivity between Gurugram and Greater Noida. Plans are underway to connect Greater Noida and Gurugram via Faridabad in Haryana through the high-speed corridor, with the preparation in full swing.

Once operational, the Namo Bharat corridor will offer fast, reliable and efficient connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Key Highlights Of The Proposed Namo Bharat Corridor

- Spanning across 65 kilometres, the proposed Namo Bharat corridor will begin at IFFCO Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway in Gurugram and pass through Faridabad in Haryana and Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

- A total of six stations have been proposed initially: IFFCO Chowk, Gurugram, Sector 54, Golf Course Road, Gurugram, Bata Chowk, Faridabad, Sectors 85–86, Faridabad, Sectors 142-168, Noida and Surajpur, Greater Noida.

- With preparation for six stations underway, the number of stations may be later expanded to nine, MoneyControl reported.

- The geotechnical survey for the proposed Namo Bharat corridor between Gurugram and Greater Noida has been completed.

- A Detailed Project Report (DPR) is expected to be completed in three months. Once completed, it will be sent to the Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments for approval.

Gurugram-Greater Noida Namo Bharat Corridor: Check Cost, Speed, Other Details

- Route: “The 65-km-long Namo Bharat train corridor will start from IFFCO Chowk (Gurugram) on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway and go through Faridabad to Noida and Greater Noida. The route will connect the Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport Namo Bharat project of NCRTC,” Money Control quoted an official as saying.

- Speed: The Namo Bharat trains are designed to run up to 180 km/h along the high-speed corridor, with operations expected at intervals of 5 to 7 minutes, offering more frequent and faster service to the commuters.

- Cost: The entire project is estimated to cost around Rs 15,000 crore. Preparation for DPR is underway, following which the construction will take place.
