Monsoon Weekend Gateways Near Bengaluru: While extended heat waves across the nation in the first half of 2024 forced people to stay indoors, the current monsoon season has relieved a lot of the burden for everyone. The easing of the sensation of exploration brought about by the steady drop in temperature means that the time for a quick weekend escape is here.

Having said that, let's check out five monsoon getaway travel options that are less than five hours from Bengaluru, depending on whether you want to seek the excitement of hiking or just some peace, away from your busy metropolitan life.

Nandi Hills (Time: 1 hr 30 mins)

One of the most well-liked weekend getaway spots, Nandi Hills, also called the Nandi Durga, is the source of five rivers: North Palar, South Pennar, Chitravathi, Arkavathi, and Papaghni. The Nandi Hills, at around 4850 feet above sea level, was a well-liked summer getaway for both Tipu Sultan and the British. A stone staircase leads through pathways with trees lining both sides for visitors to travel across. Additionally, visitors may participate in rope courses provided by several local resorts.

Shivanasamudra Falls (Time: 2 hrs 50 mins to 3 hrs)

Two waterfalls together called Shivanasamudra Falls are located next to the Cauvery River. The two waterfalls that combine to form the Shivanasamdra Falls are the 90-metre-high Gaganachukki Falls and the 69-metre-tall Bharakucchi Falls near Kollegala. Established in 1902, this waterfall is the location of one of Asia's earliest hydroelectric power facilities. Boat trips that provide a glimpse of the plummet from the cliff's beginning are available to tourists.

Sakleshpur (Time: 4 hrs to 5 hrs)

Sakleshpur, sometimes spelled Sakleshpura, is a hill station in Karnataka that is situated in the Western Ghats' Malnad area. Sakleshpur's vast coffee and cardamom plantations have earned it the nickname "Switzerland of Karnataka." The start of the monsoon season fosters a sub-tropical environment that is ideal for the flourishing of distinct flora and fauna species since the Western Ghats are a hotspot of biodiversity.
