Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday made his podcast debut with Zerodha founder Nikhil Kamath, where he shared insights on politics and life. The Prime Minister discussed a number of topics including his personal and political life, his ideology and his life mantra. He also revealed that since childhood, he has believed in only one mantra i.e., 'Nation first'.
In the podcast, PM Modi also stated that the youth should enter politics with a mission, not ambition, adding that one can only be successful in politics if he/she is a team player.
"It is one thing to enter politics, being successful in politics is another. The second happens when you are a team player and are dedicated to people’s welfare. People should enter politics with a mission, not ambition," said PM Modi.
He further added, "In the freedom struggle, several leaders from all sections of society took part. But not everyone joined politics. Some focused on education, some on khadi…But the movement was inspired by patriotic fervour. Only one group joined politics. These leaders had different ideas and maturity. They wanted to sacrifice for the country. I feel good people should keep entering politics with a mission, not ambition. Mission will help you find a place eventually…It should be above ambition. Then you need capability."

PM Modi stressed the significance of idealism over ideology, noting that while politics cannot exist without ideology, idealism remains essential. The Prime Minister mentioned that although Gandhi and Savarkar followed different paths, their shared ideology was "freedom."
"Idealism is far more important than ideology. Without ideology, politics can't happen. However, idealism is very much required. Before Independence, the ideology (of freedom fighters) was freedom. Gandhi had a different path, but the ideology was freedom. Savarkar took his own path, but his ideology was freedom," PM Modi said.
'I Am Not God': PM Modi On Making Mistakes
Speaking on his own ideology, the Prime Minister said that it was always to keep the nation first.
"I am not the kind of person who changes his stance as per his convenience. I have grown up believing in only one (kind of) ideology. If I were to describe my ideology in a few words, I would say, 'Nation first'. Anything that fits into the tagline, 'nation first', doesn't bind me in the shackles of ideology and tradition. It pushed us to move forward. I am ready to leave old things and embrace new ones. However, the condition is always, 'nation first'," PM Modi said.
As he makes his debut, PM Modi recalled the time when he was the CM of Gujarat and he had said something in "insensitive way". "I said something in an insensitive way. Mistakes happen. I am human, not a God," he said.
"When I became the (Gujarat) chief minister, I gave a speech in which I said, ‘I will not shy away from hard work’ and ‘I will not do anything for myself’ and ‘I am human who can make mistakes, but I will never do anything wrong with bad intentions’. This is my life's Mantra. Everyone makes mistakes, including me. After all, I am a human being, not some God," added the Prime Minister.
'There Should Be 100% Delivery Of Govt Schemes': PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke about different tenures and said that in his first tenure as the Prime Minister of India, the people were trying to understand him and he was trying to understand Delhi.
"In the second term, I used to think from the perspective of the past. In the third term, my thinking has changed, my morale is high and my dreams have grown. I want solutions to all problems by 2047 for Viksit Bharat...There should be 100% delivery of govt schemes. This is real social justice and secularism. The driving force behind this is - AI-'Aspirational India," he said.
