  2. Accused seek brain mapping, polygraph tests; CBI to respond.
  3. Bail pleas adjourned; case to proceed day-to-day.

Jagran Correspondent, New Delhi: The special fast track court at Rouse Avenue, which is hearing the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, has directed the CBI to complete the scrutiny of the 20,000-page charge sheet by Tuesday evening. The court stated that a copy of the same should be made available to all 13 accused by August 6. It also adjourned the hearing on the bail pleas of accused Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal until August 6.

In the court of Special Judge Ajay Gupta, the defence argued that a debate on the bail petitions is not possible without providing a copy of the charge sheet. Following this, the court directed the CBI to provide the documents to the accused. All accused are currently in judicial custody and will appear in court on August 6.

Response Sought On Demand For Polygraph, Brain Mapping

During the hearing, advocate AP Singh filed an application seeking brain mapping and polygraph test of Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal.

The court asked the CBI to file a response to the application, and orally remarked that it would first examine the legal maintainability of filing such an application.

The court also clarified that the hearing of the case will now proceed on a day-to-day basis, being a special court constituted under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

On July 29, the court had sought an explanation from the CBI on the non-availability of documents listed along with the charge sheet, statements of witnesses and seized material on record.

The CBI had stated that the charge sheet and related documents, totaling approximately 20,000 pages, were being scanned and copied. Following this, then-Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga granted the agency three days.
