Delhi Traffic Update: Ahead of the New Year's celebrations, the Delhi Traffic Police has restricted the entry of private and commercial vehicles near Connaught Place to manage the crowd. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the authority stated that the regulations will be in effect from 7 PM on December 31, 2025, until the conclusion of the New Year celebrations. It further stated that the restriction has been announced to ensure security and smooth traffic flow near one of the most visited places of the national capital. The traffic police have advised the commuters to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

In its advisory, the traffic police stated that the entry of private vehicles will be restricted near Connaught Place from several regions, including Mandi House roundabout, Bengali Market roundabout, the northern end of Ranjit Singh flyover, the Minto Road-DDU Marg crossing, Chelmsford Road (near Munje Chowk), the RK Ashram Marg-Chitragupta Marg crossing, Gol Market roundabout, GPO roundabout, Patel Chowk, the Kasturba Gandhi Road-Ferozeshah Road crossing, Jai Singh Road-Bangla Sahib Lane, and Windsor Place roundabout.

Apart from this, the authority also stated that the parking arrangements have been made at several sites, including near Kali Bari Marg, Pandit Pant Marg, and Bhai Vir Singh Marg. Apart from this, similar arrangements have been made near Rakab Ganj Road, Copernicus Marg, DDU Marg, Press Road, RK Ashram Marg, Chitragupta Road, Basant Road, Copernicus Lane, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Babar Road, Tansen Marg, Windsor Place, the service road along Peshwa Road and Bhai Vir Singh Marg, and Jantar Mantar Road.

The traffic police have also suggested several alternative routes, including the Ring Road (from ISBT to Ashram), Delhi Gate-Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg-Mathura Road, and Rani Jhansi Marg-Panchkuian Road-Mandir Marg (from Hanuman Murti to the Ring Road). The authority has advised the residents to maximise the use of public transport to avoid the rush.
