CJP Protests: In a major setback for actor Imran Khan, the authorities have asked him to leave the country by October 28 for participating in the protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Earlier, the actor was detained by the Mumbai Police for taking part in the demonstrations led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The action has been taken as per the Immigration Act, which mandates that a foreign citizen cannot participate in such demonstrations in India.
Action As Per Immigration Act
In its statement, the Mumbai police stated that action was taken over Khan's participation in the CJP-led demonstrations despite not being an Indian citizen. "Action has been taken against Imran Khan under the relevant provision of the Immigration Act over his participation in the protest despite not being an Indian citizen," the police said, reported NDTV.

Row Over Khan's Participation

Imran Khan's Post
In an Instagram post, Khan posted a picture after being detained by the Mumbai police, with a satirical caption, "Apparently I'm going for a drive". In another video, the actor is seen questioning the restrictions imposed by the authorities during the large-scale protests. "I honestly don't know why I have been brought here. They picked all of us from the streets and asked us to sit in the vans," the actor asserted.
